Stylish and diligent left footed full back, Isaac Muleme has agreed personal terms with reigning Uganda Premier League champions, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club.

Muleme, 24, has already earned 11 caps for the senior national football team, Uganda Cranes, the reason the technical team at Lugogo deemed it necessary to acquire his services at a time Joseph Ochaya departs to a much greener paddock in South Africa with Bid Vest Wits University football club.

The diminutive though hard working player oozes with copious experience having played at two consecutive CHAN tournaments in South Africa (2014) and two years later in Rwanda and winning Uganda her 13 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Ethiopia.

The player was released by KCCA’s rival, Sports Club Villa after he ‘reportedly demanded for his arrears’ from the club boss, Ben Immanuel Misagga.

Since being given the green light by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) players’ status committee, two clubs Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and KCCA engaged the player on a one to one basis.

Muleme, a product from the defunct Villa Jogoo programme that produced great players as Jeremiah Ssebuyira, Mike Azira, Godfrey ‘Jajja Walu’ Walusimbi and a host of many others, chose KCCA for the traditional romantic short crispy passing philosophy.

When Kawowo Sports contacted the former URA and Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) player, he at first expressed shock before committing self.

“We are in talks with some clubs but there is one we have concluded. The world will know soon,” Muleme remarked with his customary grin off the box shaped face.

Should KCCA finally acquire his services, he will join fox-in-the-box striker Geofrey Sserukuma (from Lweza), tricky age-less winger Vincent Walugembe Kayizzi (formerly at Express), industrious right back Dennis Rukundo (Maroons), goalie Douglas Kisembo (Police) as some of the off season signings for Mike Mutebi.

KCCA has already confirmed to host the Phillip Omondi Invitational Tournament over the weekend at Lugogo with the hosts, KCCA playing alongside Proline, Express and Lweza.

The tourney will give new faces at the respective clubs that crucial plat form to rehearse ahead of the virgin season that starts officially with the FUFA Super Sup between the 2015/16 Uganda Premier League champions, KCCA and the Uganda Cup winners, Vipers.
