Lugogo Indoor Stadium

Javon Ladies vs. UCU Lady Canons – 6:00 pm

KIU Titans vs. City Oilers – 8:00pm

No kind of weather will disrupt the most highly anticipated game of this year’s National Basketball League.

KIU Titans and City Oilers will shift their battle from YMCA to the Lugogo Indoor stadium to avoid any inconvenience by the weather.

The two sides face off on Tuesday evening to make up for the duel that was washed out at the YMCA outdoor court about two weeks ago.

Oilers had started well with James Okello and Landry Ndikumana nailing quick 3’s to give the defending champions an early 11-02 lead.

The Titans then rallied on to get back into the game and they tied it at 21 before nature dictated that there should be a postponement. The two sides boast the best squads in the league and are tipped by many to make this year’s finals.

But, KIU’s displays in some games have left some doubting whether they can actually match the three time league winners.

“No one survived. Both teams had a chance of winning the game,” KIU guard Sudi Ulanga told Kawowo Sports after the washed out encounter.

The University side had missed the services of center Ivan Lumanyika with the former UCU Canons big man arriving moments after the postponement.

Oilers are still unbeaten and if there is any side that should give them headache, it is Hamza Nyambogo’s troops.

KIU have the ammunition but have on various occasions struggled to put them to good use and succumbed to unpredictable losses.

For Oilers, it is no longer about the league. The main target is the Zone V Club championship slated for October in Dar es Salam, Tanzania.

Mandy Juruni will use the league games as a way of preparing for the event where his side finished second in Kigali, Rwanda last year
