Uganda Cranes upcoming games:

  • International build up: Uganda Cranes Vs Kenya (30th August 2016)
  • AFCON 2017 Qualifier: Uganda Cranes Vs Comoros (4th September 2016)

*Both games at Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole

Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic is expected to release the team of players for the two upcoming matches on Wednesday at FUFA House in Kampala.

Micho will be addressing the media and officially releasing the detailed programme in the run to the two games.

The squad will be named on Wednesday at FUFA House in Kampala with the detailed programme released.

I will mix the home based and professionals with non residential training starting immediately on Thursday.

Micho is expected to ring a couple of changes to the squad that traveled away to Zimbabwe and Botswana.

With Dennis Iguma suspended at right back, there are plenty of options available in Nicholas Wadada (Vipers), Joseph Nsubuga (SC Villa) and Yeovil Town’s Bevis Mugabi who recently transfered from Southampton.

It remains to be seen whether Melvyn Lorenzen, playing for Werder Bremen in Germany makes the team of summoned players.

Usual suspects in the shape of Dennis Onyango, Geofrey Massa, Murushid Jjuuko, William Luwagga Kizito, isaac Isinde, Farouk Miya, Tonny Mawejje, Joseph Ochaya and Godfrey Walusimbi remain the core of the team.

On colour KCCA f.c top scorer Geofrey Sserunkuma is a sure card given his current blistering form as well as the returning Vincent Kayizzi Walugembe and possibly a gamble on winger Brian Majwega who has lately settled well at KCCA after a disastrous time in Tanzania with Azam and lately Simba football clubs.

SC Villa’s captain Mike Sserumaga, Bernard Muwanga, Vipers’ Ismail Watenga, KCCA’s Timothy Awanyi and Ivan Ntege, as well as a wild choice on another domestic player could make the team among the locally based stars.

Uganda Cranes will play Kenya in a highly billed international friendly match next Tuesday as a prepratory fixture for the much awaited Comoros AFCON 2017 qualifier on Sunday, September.
