Young striker Yunus Sentamu was surprised upon being included on the Uganda Cranes team for the Kenya and Comoros engagements.

However, he is quick to acknowledge that it is been a result of diligence since moving to his new club based in Finland, Ilves Tampere F.C.

I had taken time off when I waited for the visa to go and join Ilves. The patience paid off when I eventually traveled and I have been working so hard to help my team win games in the league.

Sentamu scored a great goal against Spanish opposition Valencia in a match Ilves was celebrating 85 years of existence (Ilves lost 4-1).

I feel good every time I score and I have been working hard to play well.

Similarly, I will continue to work so hard to help Uganda Cranes qualify for the AFCON finals.

Sentamu has since scored and assisted several goals in the matches against HIFK (Ilves won 3-1).

He also played in the 4-0 loss at SJK and lately featured in the final 15 minutes of his club’s one all home draw to Ropes at their 2500 Tammela Stadium.

He is among the eight strikers on the team who will be considered for the Kenya international friendly next Tuesday before they face Comoros on Sunday, 4th September 2016.

In eight international games played for Uganda Cranes, Sentamu has three goals.

He broke into prominence during the CHAN 2014 in South Africa with a well taken brace against Burkina Faso.

Since that game, the rest is now history as he rose through the ranks – transferring from Vipers to Congo side AS Vita.

He guided AS Vita to the finals of the CAF Champions League before he was signed on by Tunisian giants CS Safxien.

Sentamu is expected in the country by Sunday ahead of the Kenya international friendly match on Tuesday, 30th August 2016.

Match day tickets for both the Kenya and Comoros games are already on sale around Kampala and the surrounding areas.
