Gor Mahia Football Club head coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira has abruptly fired the goalkeeping coach, Mathews Ottamax ahead of the team’s Sunday trip to play Nzoia United in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) at the Mumias Sports Complex in Kisumu.

Ottamax was requested to stay back as the team players and officials boarded at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The former Kenya Harambee Stars and AFC Leopards goalkeeper obliged to the coach’s instruction but as quoted by SokaEast felt so embarrassed by the ugly scene;

The Coach is picking fights with everyone. Since his family joined him here he has been arrogant and disrespectful and he doesn’t listen to anyone else apart from them.

He fired the bus driver and now me.

I didn’t want to create tension on a match day so I decided to leave but I have informed the club’s management.

Maybe because he is a Brazilian, he thinks we Kenyans we don’t know football.

We have raised the issue of substituting Ernest Wendo but he doesn’t take it positively despite the negative effects the move has always had

K’ogalo are seven points behind Tusker and are desperate to defend their league crown.

There is a school of thought the Brazilian coach recently brought on board a physical trainer to work with Sandro Fantino, a feat that has acted to cause more discount among the members of the technical bench.
