Ghana Black Stars Vs Uganda Cranes

After a successful AFCON qualification campaign that witnessed the Uganda Cranes break the barricades to qualify for the continental showpiece after 38 years, preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers take immediate effect.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is planning a training camp in West Africa and a high profile international friendly before the opening match of the qualifiers against Ghana at the beginning of October.

Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin Sredejovic is well aware of the demands and fruits that arise as a result of a high profile friendly.

Everything has been set. We need the friendly and camp to acclimatize to the conditions of West Africa and to check the state of players – physically and technically

Kawowo Sports has established that Togo, who recently humiliated Djibouti 5-0 to qualify for AFCON is the country Uganda will be facing with dates yet to be confirmed by the federation.

Uganda’s next opponent Ghana played an international friendly in Russia on Tuesday and lost 1-0 in Moscow.

Krasnodor center forward Fyodor Mikhaylovich Smolov scored the only of the day in the 20th minute, his 6th since 2012.

Ghana is housed in the same group as Uganda in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Congo Brazzaville and Egypt are the other two countries in Group E.

Uganda Cranes will travel to Accra on 2nd October 2016 for the first match of the Russia 2018 qualification campaign.
