JMC Hippos 1-3 URA FC
It took a strong earthquake that measured 4.1 on the rector scale for Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club to pick their maximum points of the 2016/17 Uganda Premier League season.
URA perfectly recovered from a 7th minute strike by the industrious forward Walter Bankene as they overturned a 1-0 half time deficit to a 3-1 win over JMC Hippos at the Kakindu Stadium on Saturday.
The poorly attended match started brightly for the home side when Bankene, who had requested to depart the club in June beat Aliyonzi in URA’s goal for the opener.
It wasn’t until the second stanza that the visitors discovered their rhythm to make quick amends.
First, JMC missed the chance to make it two when Bankene broke through and had only Alionzi in goal to beat.
The former Onduparaka shot stopper reacted quickest to tame the opportunity and URA was never the same from that tense moment.
Burly forward Ronald Kigongo connected left back Samuel Sekitto’s teasing corner for the equalizer 10 minutes into the second half.
New signing, Robert Mukongottya, a thorn in the flesh of the opposition back-line used his direct approach to the game, pace and agility to put URA ahead for the first time on the day with the second goal five minutes later.
Hard working Ssekitto scored great free-kick from over 30 yards to extend the lead inside the final quarter of the game.
JMC goalie, Benson Wagima was at fault for Sekitto’s goal that eventually earned URA their first victory of the campaign.
URA had previously drawn goal-less with Kirinya-Jinja S.S and shared the spoils with BUL and Vipers after a one all draw at Mehta stadium on match day two and three respectively.
