URA 2-1 Nyamityobora
Newly promoted FUFA Big League side from Western Region, Nyamityobora Football Club lost to Uganda Revenue Authority F.C 2-1 in a friendly match at the Homesdallen play ground, Gayaza.
The match was played on Tuesday evening as a preparatory platform for the club ahead of the FUFA Big League season that starts on Thursday, 15th September 2016.
The tax collectors, using largely a second string side took the lead through former Paidha Black Angels’ prodigal son, Godfrey Villa Oromchan and Ronald Kigongo got the second.
It wasn’t until the second half that Arafat Byekwaso netted the equalizer as the two sides ended all square after normal time.
Nyamityabora, coached by Charles Ayiekho traveled shortly after the friendly to Mbale where they spent the night ahead of their last training session at the Mbale Municipal Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Western Region representatives will play Eastern’s Kataka on the opening day of the Big League season on Thursday.
Ayiekho revealed the reason behind the early travel to Mbale;
We are not taking chances.
We traveled early to acclimatize and help the players settle quite early ahead of the match with Kataka on match day one of the season
Nyamityobora is in the Rwenzori group of the Big league and has recruited massively ahead of the grueling season.
