Gulu University 0-0 Nkumba University

Gulu and Nkumba University played to a goalless draw on Thursday in Gulu municipality.

This was the 4th quarter final match that completed the first leg series of the last eight teams left in this year’s University Football League.

In the earlier three quarter finals played, only Makerere and Kampala Universities managed to win their first legs.

Makerere University defeated nemesis side Kyambogo 2-0 at Uganda Prisons ground in Luzira courtesy of Joshua Lubwama’s brace on the evening.

Kampala University managed a 2-1 victory at Busitema with Fibele Muyamana’s penalty and Abdallah Walusimbi’s goals for granting Vincent ‘Titi Camara’ Tumusiime’s coached Kampala University the advantage.

Ibrahim Orit scored for Busitema University to create hope and a tense finish come the return leg that will be played on Wednesday, 19th October 2016 at Villa Park in Nsambya.

The other quarter final between Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) and Uganda Christian University (UCU) ended in a one goal stalemate.

The second legs of the quarter finals return on 12th October 2016 starting with the Kyambogo versus Makerere affair at the neutral venue of Luzira.

Last edition’s winners, MUBS were eliminated at the group stages.

Thursday, 22nd September 2016: UMU 1-1 UCU – Nkozi

Wednesday, 28th September 2016: Busitema 1-2 KU – Busitema campus
