Preparations for a successful 2016 independence day golf tournament at the luxurious Palm Valley Golf and Country club are a high notch.

On Tuesday, different sponsors for the three day tourney converged at Sheraton Kampala Hotel gardens to echo in unison their support for the event that marks the 6th year since inception in 2010.

The joint press conference was addressed by Crown Beverages’ Brandon Ssemanda, Mukwano Group’s Sangam Kader and ICEA’s Rehema Nakiroywa as well as Sheraton Kampala’s Jackie Nalubega.

Hefty packages:

Over Shs220M has been injected by the different sponsors to facilitate the running of the tournament logistics (shirts, dinner and drinks), prize money for the professionals and trophies as well as other prizes at stake.

We want to make this tournament more exciting than the previous editions.

The course is in shape, players’ kits ready and the golfers will have a tranquil environment to interact with one another in a relaxed mood.

The 30 confirmed professionals tee off on Thursday and will wind up business the next day with their package fixed at Ug.shs 20M.

The main event comes on the big day (independence day) on 9th October 2016 where atleast 120 golfers will take to the course as early as 7 a.m.

Last year’s winners:

Defending champions Enock Nuwagaba and Evelyne Assimwe who won in the men and women categories will hope to repeat a rare double feat.
