AFCON 2017 Draws – Libreville, Gabon

Barely a week to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations draws, Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Sredejovic expects a tough group.

Micho, who will be attending the draws told the media in Kampala on Wednesday that all the finalists are equal to the task.

There is no easy group. All the countries in the different pots are good.

Therefore, that business of easy group will not exist

The 2017 AFCON draws will be held next week on Wednesday, 19th October 2016 in Libreville, Gabon.

Uganda was pooled in Pot 4 alongside Togo, Zimbabwe and Guinea Bissau.

Giants Gabon (Hosts), Cote d’ Ivoire, Ghana and Algeria are in the same pot and can not face each other at least in the group stages.

Tunisia, Mali, Burkina Faso and DR Congo are in Pot 2 whilst Cameroon, Senegal, Morocco and Egypt are in Pot 3.

Uganda Cranes has not been at the AFCON finals since 1978 in Ghana.

Pot 1: Gabon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Algeria

Pot 2: Tunisia, Mali, Burkina Faso, DR Congo

Pot 3: Cameroon, Senegal, Morocco, Egypt

Pot 4: Togo, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Guinea Bissau
