SC Villa has appointed renowned football administrator Yusuf ‘Chuni’ Kyeyune as chairman technical on a two year deal.
He was unveiled to the press and fans at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon by club president Ben Immanuel Misagga who reiterated that Chuni’s experience will be vital in the club’s road to return to glory days.
“He is an experienced football administrator with technical knowhow as well,” said Misagga. “He is now an executive member who will act as the link between the executive and the technical wing,” he added.
Chuni stated he is delighted to be back at where it all started affirming his love for football has never dwindled promising to work hand in hand with the rest to ensure glory days are back at SC Villa.
“I’m delighted to be back to where it all started,” he started. “I recall the days of Nakivubo Boys (current SC Villa) and now it’s time to serve above self in conjunction with all stakeholders at the club,” he added.
At the same function, the club unveiled former club left fullback Robert Ssekweyama as assistant to now head coach, Shafik Bisaso. When asked whether this means Bisaso is now in charge and not just interim, Misagga confirmed.
“Bisaso is now our full head coach assisted by Ssekweyama – the rest you heard before this is now irrelevant.”
The CAF ‘C’ license holder joins a technical staff headed by Chuni (Chairman Technical), Bisaso (Head Coach) and Valley Mugwanya as goalkeeping coach cum team manager.
The last SC Villa vibrant technical chairman was Sam Tamale Kapeera who served till 2012.
Under Misagga’s leadership, former Ugandan international, Phillip Obwiny served in that capacity before he fell out with Sam Ssimbwa and left the club.
