Mutesa I Royal University 5-6 Nkumba Select

Towering center forward Roch  Somoka scored 4 times in Nkumba Select’s narrow 6-5 victory against Mutesa I Royal University at Lido Beach in a National Beach Soccer League match on Sunday.

Emma Wasswa and Nasser Lwamunda added the other goals for Moses Lukyamuzi and Isa Assimwe’s coached side.

Hassan Luboyera notched a hat-trick for Mutesa I Royal University. The other two goals came from Paul Kato and Primo Kimera.

Nkumba Select led 3-2 in first period. Mutesa I took the subsequent period recovering to win 2-1 and level the aggregate score 4 all.

The league defending champions won the final period 1-2 and take home the valuable three points on the table that drives them to the joint top of the Hurriken Group on 12 points apiece from 5 games by either sides.

YMCA lost their match 5-4 to Makerere University Business School (MUBS).

Next Sunday marks the end of the first round of the league with seven games at Lido.

Dalumba International host MUBS, YMCA plays International University of East Africa (IUEA), Nkumba Select has a bye because they were supposed to play Buwanika Bulls who was demoted after failure to honour three league engagements.
