The President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni Kaguta has finally paid the outstanding arrears for all the Uganda Cranes’ players and officials who were part of the successful AFCON 2017 campaign.

The development confirmed by the FUFA spokesman, Ahmed Hussein on Wednesday during the weekly press conference at Mengo in Kampala.

FUFA is in correspondence with the State House controller concerning the payment of the players and officials’ bonuses.

We are well aware that the monies are being wired directly to their respective accounts submitted by the FUFA finance department.

Two weeks ago, President Museveni promised to clear the players’ arrears of $10,000 for each of the players and officials who worked tooth and nail to see team mark history by qualifying for the continental showpiece.

Kawowo Sports has established that FUFA submitted a list of 34 players and 6 officials on the technical team for payment.

Head coach, Milutin Sredejovic has admitted having received his payment already.

I want to thank His Excellency for fulfilling his promise. Now focus turns to training for AFCON 2017 finals and like he pledged to facilitate the preparations for AFCON 2017, we have already submitted the detailed programme

The team will camp in Tunisia and Dubai in January 2017 before the Gabon tournament where the Cranes are pitted in Group D alongside Egypt, Ghana and Mali.

Uganda Cranes will play Ghana Black Stars at Port Gentil stadium on the 19th January 2016 in the Group D opener.
