Heathens 19-11 Buffaloes
It is not a common practice to have Rugby Premiership games on Thursday evenings.
The scoreline, 19-11 in favour of Heathens, doesn’t raise anyone’s hair though.
The fixture, commonly known as the “Kyadondo derby”, lacked any spark.
The game, brought forward from Saturday to Thursday because of the Beer festival, saw Heathens record their 4th consecutive win of the season.
It was yet another tough outing for the depleted Buffaloes who are still without a win in 4 games.
Both sides, especially Buffaloes, missed some of their big names with some players selected to represent Uganda in the upcoming HSBC World Series.
Gerald Ssewankambo scored at the final whistle to enable them jump into double figures but all was late.
Despite Heathens’ win, they must rue their failure to pick a bonus point.
Kobs earlier missed picking up a bonus point against a stubborn Sadolin Mongers side and will welcome the Heathens result with open arms.
The defending champions take on Rhinos on Saturday and a bonus point win will see them go level on points with last season’s runners up.
