Kenya defender Micheal Wandera Wanyama has been voted the best player of the season in the Swedish third tier league.

The Gottne IF player was impressive in defence in the 31 appearances he made and his side finished third in this season’s campaign.

The defender captained Kakamega High School in 2012 before he was lured to sign for Talanta Kakamega Homeboyz and later at AFC Leopards.

Wandera, quoted by Futaa.com praised his teammates and manager for the support through out the season.

I am delighted to be the player of the year. I thank God for guiding me through out the season and my teammates and coaches for the being by side. I want to build myself so I will be staying at the club so that I can achieve that goal

He has indicated he will stay with the club for yet another season.
