Mujib Kasule declared himself an ‘absolutely happy’ man after his side’s 1-0 victory over Kirinya-Jinja SSS on Tuesday at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
After a somewhat frustrating first half that saw Proline miss a couple of good chances, the home side’s goal arrived in the 53rd minute.
The solo goal notched by Nelson Senkatuka was all the side needed to bag all the three points as they registered their first win at home this season and Kasule was pleased with his team’s showings.
Speaking after the game, Kasule said: “Kirinya- Jinja SSS are a very good side. They like to possess and pass the ball, make things hard for their opponents. It was not an easy game for both sides but we managed to come through.
“I’m absolutely happy we got the win. We’ve been getting close all season and I thought we were fantastic today and deserved victory.”
Proline have had to deal with upsets this term with the side consistently surrendering winnable home games, most notably against Lweza when they comfortably led 2-0 at half time, only for them to draw 3-3.
Kasule is adamant those disappointing results haven’t really told the real story.
“Our past results have not painted the real picture. We’ve produced some really good performances but been a bit unlucky. We had to patiently wait for this day.
“We didn’t have our captain and Savio [Kabugo] but the team played with great confidence.”
Proline moved a place above to 12th dislodging Police who succumbed to a 1-0 loss to Lweza
