Barely a fortnight to the long awaited Christmas day, a total of 13 sports journalists have reaped big from Airtel Uganda.

13 different winners smiled home with different gifts that ranged from 42 sized LG brand Television sets and smart phones, all courtesy of Airtel Uganda as the “Tulumbe AFCON” promotion campaign kicked off with the draws on Friday, 9th December 2016 at the Airtel head quarters located at Clement Hill in Kampala.

There were 3 giant Television sets and 10 smart mobile phones given out after the draws witnessed by Airtel Uganda officials.

The lucky winners:

Ismail Kezaala (Daily Monitor), Adrian Mwesiga (Mushroom Media) and Michale Nsubuga, a New Vision photo journalist all won LG Television sets.

Edwin Junior (Big Eye Uganda), Elly Kyeyune (Akaboozi and The Observer), Gerald Mutumba (Delta TV), Paul Mugume (Chimp Reports) all won Techo Boom Phones.

Meanwhile, Remmegious Ssewankambo (Tech Jaja), Ismail Mukangwa (New Vision and Bukedde), Allan Darren Kyeyune (Daily Monitor and NTV), Honorata Twebaze (Jazz F.M), Faisal Ssesanga (Blue Flamingo Social media) and Uthuman Ssempebwa (UBC TV) were ZTE Phone winners.

Remmy Kisakye, head of brand and communications at Airtel Uganda congratulated the winners;

This is the start of the Tulumbe AFCON promotion.

Different fans will win Air tickets to Gabon and varying prizes.

We encourage the different Airtel customers to take part in the promotion.

We also want to thank the media for working closely with us.

A total of six lucky fans stand a chance to catch live Uganda Cranes’ opening match against Ghana Black Stars at the Port Gentil stadium in Gabon on 19th January 2017.

The campaign was officially launched on Friday, 2nd December 2016 with a campaign code name ‘Tulumbe AFCON’.

How to win the tickets:

Airtel customers have to simply recharge their airtime and dial *162#, then follow the prompts.

This will allow them to know their target. They will then be required to recharge and meet their individual target.

Upon reaching the targets, subscribers will receive 100% bonus, which, on accumulation, will be rewarded to them as airtime to be used for voice (prepaid), data and SMS.

There will be weekly draws to reward the lucky winners that will be held every Friday (the final draw will be held on Friday, 13th January 2017).

Winners will be contacted by Airtel Uganda via 0752-600-222.

The campaign follows the earlier promotion launched by Eco Bank where fans were also promised to be flown to Gabon, but after donating at least Ug.shs 10,000 for the national team cause where at least Ug.shs 6 Billion is being sought.
