FUFA Big League: Final games of 1st round

  • Monday, 12th December 2016: Airtel – Kitara Vs Hope Doves – Boma play ground, Hoima
  • Tuesday, 13th December 2016:  Sun City Vs Nyamityobora – Nyakasanga Play ground, Kasese

The first round of the 2016/17 FUFA Big league season climaxes with two games on Monday and Tuesday.

First, on Monday, debutants Airtel-Kitara will host Hope Doves, a fixture that had been earlier been fixed for Saturday.

The match will take place at the Boma play ground in Hoima Municipality.

Kitara has had quite a promising start to the season with fair results home and away.

They remain unbeaten at their home fortress in Hoima.

According to the Airtel – Kitara team manager, Joshua ‘Tata Josh’ Atugonza, his side is ready to climax the first round on a sound note with the maximum points.

We have rested for enough time and my players are ready to play to their best and get the result desired – three points. We want to close the gap with the leaders (Masavu)

Airtel Kitara is currently on 15 points as the Rwenzori group leaders Masavu leads with 27 points.

On Tuesday, Sun City will play host to Nyamityobora at the Nyakasanga play ground in Kasese, a game brought forward by two weeks because of the earlier clashes in Kasese district.

Sun City’s immediate last game was that hard fought 1-0 result past Entebbe at Bugonga last Thursday while Nyamityobora was held at home by Mbarara City in the epic Mbarara derby.

After Tuesday’s game, the FUFA Big league will take a break for the festive and new year holidays.

Three clubs are promoted to the Azam Uganda premier league at the end of the season in May 2017.

Last season, Onduparaka, Kirinya – Jinja S.S and Proline were the three sides that were promoted from the Big league to replace Simba, Maroons and Sports Club Victoria University which were demoted after the 2015/16 season.
