Onduparaka creative midfielder Gadaffi ‘Thiago’ Wahabu acknowledges the bold fact that the Arua club has had an amazing year.

Gadaffi has been one of those players maintained on the team right from the lower divisions to the top flight league.

In an exclusive interview with Kawowo Sports, Gadaffi, also tagged ‘Alcantara’, he reflects on the busy season, the passion and love from the people of Arua and West Nile and he also combines his personal and team ambitions for the future unknown.

We have had a relatively long, challenging, fun filled and largely successful season.

At Onduparaka Football club, we are one club and united by love and respect for each other.

I am glad we have pulled the positive results.

Gadaffi is a son to Rashid Mike and Rehima Asina both of Arua.

He was inspired to play the beautiful game by the the Arua District Football Association chairman, Bosco Onama.

Like all budding footballers world over, his number one dream is to play for the Uganda Cranes and turn professional as well.

Day and night, i am working for one dream – to play for Uganda Cranes and also turn professional. I will remain focused until i achieve those targets.

I thank all the football coaches and football parents who have always advised me here and there. I also thank all the teammates and opponents that i have played with. They keep the job on-going.

Gadafi is a keen admirer of Spanish midfielder, Thiago Alcántara do Nascimento.

During the first round of the 2016/17 top flight league, he has scored three goals; coming against SC Villa and two Jinja sides – Jinja Municipal Council Hippos and Sadolin Paints.

He was part of the Uganda Cranes regional tour match against Eastern region in Mbale. The game ended one all.
