Former national champion, Amos ‘Real Shooter’ Ndyagumanawe is the 2016 Indigo Open Pool Champion.

The 2015 National Open Pool winner beat another former national championship winner, Jonah Turigye aka Joker 8-6 in the Best of 15 series in the finals at the Indigo Pool and Restaurant.

In the road to the triumph, Turyagumanawe who hails from Samona Pool Club beat over four people including reigning national champion, Sula Matovu and then the legendary, Alfred ‘Black Sheep’ Gumikiriza in the semis.

Defending champion, Mansoor Muto was ejected in the semi-finals by Turigye but he went on to beat Black Sheep in a third place play off 2-0 in the best of three after both players agreed on that saying they are tired.

Ndyagumanawe walked home with a trophy and Ugx. 1 million courtesy of the tournament’s main sponsor, Top Bet who dressed the semi-finalists while Turigye also got cash prize of Ugx. 0.5 Million.

The second runner up, Muto won Ugx. 300,000 while Black Sheep earned Ugx, 200,000 for finishing fourth.

It was only the second edition of the championship and reliable information indicates it will be sanctioned by the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) in the near future.
