Crystal Palace forward Bakary Sako leads a cast of Europe based players as Alain Giresse revealed Mali’s final 23-man squad for Africa Nations Cup.

Drawn in Group D with Uganda, Ghana and Egypt, Mali comes into the tournament with no favourite tag but they have always done well including reaching semi-finals in 2012 and 2013.

Besides Sako, the side has Yves Bissouma who plays for Lille in France, Monaco’s Adama Traore as well as Sambou Yatabare of Werder Bremen as the players to watch out.

TP Mazembe defender Salif Coulibaly who is named on CAF’s team of the Year is among the continent based players on the team.

Others include goalkeepers Soumaila Diakité and Djigui Diarra who play for local giants Stade de Malien de Bamako.

The Eagles start their campaign in Gabon on January 17 against Egypt, take on Ghana four days later and complete their group schedule with Uganda on January 25.
