Vanguard University Lions star player Claire Lamunu seems to be making for lost time and is collecting individual awards along the way.
The Ugandan forward, was for a second week running named the Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Continuing with her strong start to the season, Lamunu bettered her performance in the previous week to earn the award in succession
After posting 26.5 points, 12 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 3 assists per game last week, she tallied 27 points, 16.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and 3.5 steals while connecting 60% from the floor.
Russ Davis, the Lions head coach was happy for the former KCCA and MUK player.
“Claire has had a great season so far and the coaches and team could not be happier for her,” the coach told vanguardlions.com. “She is as great off the court as she is on it,” Davis said of Lamunu.
Lamunu poured in 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Vanguard University Lions defeated The Master’s University Mustangs 75-68 in overtime on Tuesday.
Next up for Lamunu and the Lions is Hope International University on Saturday, January 21.
