Former IBV Vestmannaeyjar and Tusker winger Aziz Kemba expressed his delight after joining the 2014/2015 Uganda Premier League winners Vipers.

The club confirmed the acquisition of the Kemba who joined on free transfer on Thursday, and the 24 year old has expressed his delight .

“I wanted to play from here [Uganda],” Kemba told this website. “It feels so good to finally be home after all East or West, home is the best.”

Kemba joins Vipers after close to six months without competitive action. The pacey winger left Kariobangi Sharks, a division one club in Kenya in August last year and has since been out of action.

He joins the 2016 Uganda Cup champions amidst questions over his fitness, but despite such concerns, Kemba is positive he will perform.

“I know it [fitness] is a major concern but I’m working on it. I will get back my top form.

“I will work hard to remove all doubts and prove my worth.

“I’m going to set the bar high and try to match it and I believe all the other things will fall in place.”

Vipers displayed feeble performances in the first round. The side ended the round placed fourth with 24 points, eight adrift of table leaders KCCA.

Asked whether Vipers are genuine title contenders, Kemba said: “Why not? We can turn the situation around. It is not too late to do that.

“With one of the best squads in the country, I think we are and we can win it.”
