Last year’s losing finalists at the 2016 Uganda Cup, Onduparaka started the 2017 edition on a bright note.

The Arua based side missing the services of their skipper Muhammed Shaban who is at the 2017 AFCON championship with the Uganda Cranes in Gabon humiliated Football For Good, a Lira based regional side 6-2 at St Joseph College playground in Lira.

Kampala Capital City Authority were also on rampage, winning at their Lugogo home base 6-1 against visiting Koboko Rising Stars.

A brace from Paul Mucureezi, and further goals from Robert Sentongo, Muzamiru Mutyaba as well as  second half subsistutes Ivan Ntege and Derrick Nsibambi got the goals for KCCA.

Fast improving Ezra Bidda, who played for Uganda Cubs (U-17 national team) in the 2014 CAF U-17 qualifiers scored the consolation.

Defending champions of the Uganda Cup, Vipers Sports Club struggled to get past Premior, winning 4-5 on penalties after normal time had ended one all.

It was shocking to see giants Sports Club Villa Jogoo lose to Kiboga Young in Kiboga 5-4 on post match penalties after normal time had ended goal-less.

It was a great start for Abdallah Mubiru at Police winning 2-0 against Maroons at Nakivubo stadium.

Eastern regional side, Igombe defeated Entebbe 7-6 in penalties following a one all draw in normal time at the Fisheries training institute play ground in Bugonga, Entebbe.
