Burkina Faso Vs Egypt – Stade De L’Amitie (8 p.m Local Time, 10 p.m EAT)
Egypt head coach, Hector Cuper is not bothered by the injuries that rocked his side ahead of the semifinal clash against a physical Burkina Faso side.
Cuper told the media that he traveled with enough man power to last for the entire duration of the tournament.
Yes. We have injuries. Two to three players are big doubts against Burkina Faso.
It is so sad. But, I have able replacements who can equally play like those injured.
We came with 23 players all of who can play at any stage given any match.
Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny, striker Marwan Mohsen are assured to be on the sidelines as the Pharaoahs seek for a tournament record eighth title.
Cuper also hinted on the physicality of his opponents as a key weapon but was quick to remind the media that his side has already faced physical opponents as Mali and Uganda in the group stages.
Mali and Uganda were also two physical sides that we matched well in the group stages. We shall try our best against the another physical side in Burkina Faso.
He down played any claims of bad playing surfaces.
Personally, I am a man who does not believe in excuses.
I have also impacted this to my players.
There are not excuses of bad pitches, bad weather (high humidity) or the like. Players have to face all sorts of conditions.
Cuper’s comments came in the midst of castigated playing surfaces in Gabon where the Port Gentil and Oyem playing surfaces came under close scrutiny and criticism.
