Record league champions SC Villa have on Sunday unveiled their new players signed in the January window as well coach Wasswa Bbosa.
Former Simba and Sonderjsyke forward, Emmanuel Okwi led the cast of new signings unveiled by club president Ben Immanuel Misagga.
Other players unveiled are Farouk Musisi, a left back acquired from Proline, Sulaiman Luzige who has been playing in Sweden and Cameroonian goalie Tony Nyokoni.
Burundian international, Arthur Arakaza another goalkeeper was absent on the day with Misagga confirming he is back in his home country but will be back by the time the second round of the league kicks off on Tuesday.
“We have signed Okwi because we want goals,” said Misagga before telling the player who has been given shirt 7, one he donned at the club before moving to Simba in 2010.
“For you (Okwi), we want goals and hope for a goal per game.”
On Bbosa, the flamboyant club supremo tasked the former Express midfielder to work hand in hand with Shafik Bisaso to steer the club to their first league trophy since 2004.
“You have been at Express but we know that you’re SC Villa inside out,” he said. “It’s now time to feel at home and work hand in hand with everyone to lead the club to the trophy this season.”
Meanwhile, former right back Godfrey Ssekweyama has been relegated to handle the U-17 side.
He has been Bisaso’s first assistant since he took over from sacked Deo Sserwadda as head coach.
The Jogoos, second on the log with a point less than leaders KCCA, resume their title hunt with an away fixture against Bright Stars on Tuesday
