URA FC vs JMC Hippos – Mehta Stadium, 4:30pm
URA’s hunt for consistent displays in the Uganda Premier League resumes Tuesday, 7th February against bottom side Jinja Municipal Council (JMC) Hippos at Mehta Stadium, Lugazi as the second round commences.
The tax collectors impressed less in the first round. Seeing how they beefed up their squad before season start, URA were labeled ‘one of the title favorites’ but the side is yet to live up to the tag.
With only four wins bagged thus far, Kefa Kisala and his charges will look to make amends in 2017. They will be eager to improve on their performances and will be vying for their fifth win when they welcome JMC, a side they beat 3-1 in the first round.
The 2006 league winners went into the break in high spirits having beaten table toppers KCCA 1-0 in their last game in 2016.
Despite their early exit in the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar, URA will hope to pick up from where they stopped in the league on Tuesday when JMC offers opposition.
They sit sixth in the league, but a win over the league strugglers could see them move up to third if both Vipers and Soana fail to pick up maximum points from their respective matches.
Opponents JMC have endured a torrid campaign as they boast of only one win. The Jinja outfit registered a rare 1-0 victory over Express back in December and that has been the only bright spot for the side.
JMC’s Problems have mostly come due to their poor defensive shows. They have shipped in 21 goals, just one less than the joint worst defenses in the division [Proline and Police both with 22].
It is not good news on the other end of the pitch either with only nine goals managed. Only fellow Jinja outfits Kirinya-Jinja SSS and Sadolin Paints have scored less.
For the fans, there is hardly hope for survival.
They sit bottom of the table with seven points.
