Ahead of the crucial first leg tie against Angola’s CD Primeiro de Agosto in the CAF Champions League, KCCA tactician Mike Mutebi targets a clean sheet.

The two sides face off at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo with the hosts seeking a positive result to take into the return leg in a week’s time.

“The most important thing is that we don’t concede,” Mutebi said in a pre-match briefing. “On the continent, you concede, its home and away, you are in the precarious situation.  I don’t care even if it ends 0-0, no problem, but we shouldn’t concede,” he added.

The gaffer, who guided the Kasasiro to their 11th championship last season, has called for his players to play with a lot of discipline but still play the KCCA way.

If you look at the genesis, we have conceded silly goals despite scoring as many and we need to see that change. We expect them (players) to play in a disciplined manner, the good way, the correct way, and the intelligent way but by and large, we are satisfied and confident.

Going into the tie, Mutebi admits little knowledge about the side just like he thinks they know little about his charges.

All we know is that they are champions from their country. When the game starts, maybe we shall read their set up but for starters, we go in playing our way since we are playing at home.

On Tuesday, KCCA beat Bul 2-0 in what was a rehearsal of the game but despite the result, the performance was wanting and the former midfielder cum defender admits.

About the performance against Bul, yes, not so good but the players are coming to terms with the way we must play. We are hopeful of a better performance on Friday.

The tie will be the first ever CAF sanctioned club competition at Lugogo.
