Should Vipers successfully get the better of Comoros’ club Volcan De Moroni, they stand to face the victors between South African side Platinum Stars and Uniso Do Songo of Mozambique.

The second round winner makes it to the group stages.

This is exactly Vipers target according to head coach, Richard Wasswa.

“We want to make it the group stages this year after playing in the preliminary round only last year,” Wasswa told the media in Kampala.

His charges face Volcan De Moroni without the services of star player Mike Sserumaga who was injured in the Entebbe road derby against Lweza.

Sserumaga’s place was taken up after halftime by Moses Waiswa who staged an outstanding performance.

Wasswa also commented about the perfect team bonding with new faces in the team.

“We signed new players in the January window but they have bonded well with the rest who have been playing. Good enough we shall be playing at home and home advantage will count,” Wasswa noted.

Vipers 20 man squad available:

Goalkeepers: James Alitho and Ismail Watenga

Outfield Players: Tony Odur, Brian Kakaire, Deus Bukenya, Erisa Ssekisambu, Nico Wadada, Dan Birikwarira, Moses Waiswa, Musa Esenu, Francis Onekalit, Siraji Sentamu, Kezironi Kizito, Brian Nkuubi, Halid Lwaliwa, Milton Karisa, Aggrey Madoi, Ibrahim Kayiwa, Bashir Asiku.
