Lweza 1-2 Bright Stars

John Kisakye scored a late consolation for Lweza but it was too little too late as goals from Fred Segujja and Kokas Opejo had given visitors Bright Stars a 2-0 lead at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.
In an entertaining game on Sunday afternoon, the two teams started slow with Bright Stars sitting back to soak early pressure from the hosts.
Sula Bagala should have put Ibrahim Kirya’s side in the lead in 17th minute but shot wide after an error from Derrick Ssemere whose back pass was intercepted.
But a minute later, Yafessi Mubiru forced a good save from goalie Ivan Mutumba and the goalie was also alert to save Ronald Jjungu effort from a rebound.
Ten minutes later, Mubiru missed a seater, tapping over the bar from close range after being teed up by Jjungu.
The visitors, who were greatly executing counter attacks nicely, had another opportunity missed by Jjungu.
Finally, the deadlock was broken when another counter attack right from own half with Mubiru releasing Ssegujja who raced past Mudde Swaib before unleashing a shot that kissed the bar before it settled in the top of the corner.
In the second half, Kisakye and Juma Balinya came on for Ronald Muganga and Moses Nsubuga respectively for Lweza and they duly pressed for the leveller.
Fred Kajoba responded by removing Mubiru and Jjungu for Opejo and Ayub Bogere but it wasn’t until the 87th minute when a second goal came for the visitors who through another counter attack scored through Opejo.
In the 90th minute, Kisakye headed home the hosts’ consolation who have now lost 6 points in as many.
