Masavu FC Technical Director, Alex Gitta was irked by the manner in which his side lost to Express FC in the Uganda Cup describing referee David Oula as unfit.

Oula sent off two Masavu players at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku before the Red Eagles won 2-0 to reach the quarter finals of this year’s competition.

“The referee was unfit,” said Gitta who stood in for suspended Allan Kabonge on the touchline.

He was so many metres away for every decision he made and overall, his performance was so wanting. It should have been a different result with a fit referee.

Masavu played with 10-men for over 65 minutes after Bakisula was sent off for a second bookable offence and then had another player, Fred Umony sent off for alleged hand ball in the area to deny a goal scoring opportunity.

Overall, Gitta was impressed with his charges’ performance and hailed the character and belief.

The boys played their hearts out and even with two men less, we had chances to score which is encouraging. The belief was there.

Masavu’s focus now turns to the FUFA Big League where they are fighting for direct promotion.
