Simon Sserunkuma scored for Express to cancel out Saidi Kyeyune’s strike for URA at Mehta Grounds, Lugazi as the two sides drew 1-1.

This was the second meeting for the sides in three days as they clashed in the quarter finals of Uganda Cup on Tuesday which the Red Eagles edged 6-7 on penalties after drawing 1-1 in extra time.

Following a goalless first half, Kyeyune put the hosts in the lead, a minute after recess but Sserunkuma equalised four minutes later to the delight of the visitors.

It was an end to game with the visitors fashioning better chances but without conversion and the final whistle meant the end of a perfect run for Ibrahim Kirya who had overseen five wins in as many games since taking charge.

The four-time league winners stay 3rd on the log with 40 points, from 24 games while Express leapfrog both Vipers and Onduparaka to 4th with 37 points but have played one match less.
