A late start came back to bite the organizers as an interesting game was cut short of a very wet outfield after a down pour.

Kenya had set 167/8 in 31 Overs and Uganda was 7/1 after 2 Overs.

Diren Ghondaria and Karan Kaul gave Kenya an assured start with each scoring 36  and 30 respectively, Kenya lost its first wicket at 66 and looked in trouble at 77/6 but a mature knock of 48 from veteran Collins Obuya helped them post a commanding 167/8 in 31 overs.

Deus Muhumuza in his first game in the series was very economical and picked 3 big wickets all caught behind by stand in wicket keeper Roger Mukasa. He finished with the best figures by a Ugandan bowler picking 3/18 in his 6 overs.

On a very unpredictable wicket, taking more pace, Uganda were already 7/1 in their reply with Arthur Kyobe falling just before the rain break.

After the assessment by the umpires, there was enough time to get a result and game had to be called. Kenya felt hard done by the weather as they were looking at squaring the series today.

Earlier in the day David Wabwire made his senior debut for Uganda, he was decent in the beginning finishing with match figures of 0/33 in his 6 overs.

Game 3 is tomorrow at Lugogo and Kenya will be looking at making a come back in the series.

Denis has represented Uganda in international cricket events including the World Cup. He is currently the captain of Wanderers Cricket Club.
