JMC Hippos will officially be relegated from the Uganda Premier League if they fail to beat Express FC.

The two sides face off at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku in a fixture the Jinja side must endeavor to win to keep their slightest hopes of staying in the top division alive.

Bottom of the log with 10 points after 25 games, the Hippos must win all their remaining fixtures and hope that fellow relegation candidates, Kirinya Jinja SS, Sadolin Paints and Lweza fail to pick a point in their remaining fixtures.

But winning at Wankulukuku will be a tough ask for a side, winless in the season, against a rejuvenated Red Eagles that has won four of the previous five games and also reached the semi-finals of the Uganda Cup.

The Red Eagles, fourth on the log with 37 points from 23 games will rely on the form of attackers Simon Sserunkuma, Allan Kyambadde, Joseph Ssemujju and Ibrahim Saddam Juma who have shone brightly during the period in which they are unbeaten in over 8 matches in all competitions.

Matia Lule also has options with Samuel Senkoomi, Derrick Tekkwo and Yayo Lutimba all returning after missing the back to back ties against URA, their parent club.

Coincidently, JMC Hippos would be only win of the season came against Express in the reverse fixture when they won 1-0 but it was overturned in the boardroom as the Jinja side used unlicensed players.
