- KCCA are unbeaten in 16 home matches at the astro turf in Lugogo
- Only Sundowns (CAF CL) and URA (League) have drawn at the venue
Ahead of their visit to KCCA fortress, Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo, Vipers Coach Jorge Miguel Duarte Da Costa wants his side to end the hosts unbeaten run on the turf.
The Venoms take on the Kasasiro in the only game in the league on Tuesday at Lugogo where KCCA is yet to lose since the artificial turf was laid.
“We are going there for victory only,” he told the club’s official website. “We want to be the first side to bring their unbeaten home run to an end,” he added.
The reigning champions and log leaders have only failed to pick maximum points at the venue just twice but only with stalemates against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League and recently versus URA in the league.
The visitors come into the game on the back of a morale boosting 2-0 win over Soana, a win the 37-year-old dubbed his ‘first victory’ since taking over at the club.
They won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Nakivubo, then under Abdallah Mubiru and will hope to complete a double over the log leaders with a chance to trim the gap between the two sides to just six points.
