The Saints cemented their Uganda Premier League status on Tuesday despite losing a five goal thriller to Onduparaka at the Green Light Stadium, Arua

Goals from Onduparaka’s top scorer Shaban Muhammad, Rashid Toha and Living ‘Messi’ Kabong ensured the Caterpillars maintained their unbeaten record at home in the league – subjecting The Saints to their 12th defeat of the season.

Nevertheless, a goalless draw between Lweza and Kirinya-Jinja SSS meant Moses Basena’s men confirmed their safety with a game spare.

The Saints remained ninth in the league standings with 33 points, four off Lweza who occupy the 14th position.

They play Vipers on Saturday in their final game of the campaign.

Onduparaka, fifth in the league secured their 11th victory of the campaign- their eighth at home and see off their maiden premier league season unbeaten at home.

They travel to Jinja to take on Bul on Saturday in their last game.
