Bul looked to be in pole position in the race to stay in the league when they hammered local rivals Sadolin Paints 4-2 last week, but a painful defeat to Soana on Tuesday propelled them into danger of relegation.
The side went into Tuesday’s game needing to avoid defeat to confirm their stay in the league with a game spare but that loss coupled with Lweza’s point against Kirinya-Jinja SSS reduced the side’s chances of surviving the drop.
They now need a point to cement their league status. A loss and victory for both Lweza and Bright Stars against their respective final day opponents will relegate the side.
Bul have been involved in the relegation battle for much of the season, but two successive victories against JMC and Lweza last month helped restore belief at the club.
They are favorites to clinch Saturday tie against Onduparaka, but you wouldn’t confidently back them to win it outright given the home pressure.
Visitors Onduparaka are fresh from securing their 11th win of the campaign. However, like majority of their wins this season, it was a home win.
They have consistently struggled to win on their travels, with maximum points coming only on three occasions. Seven defeats have been registered, only already relegated JMC side have suffered more losses [10] on the road than the Caterpillars.
There’s hardly a thing at stake for Leo Adraa’s charges but the will to maintain their unbeaten record against Jinja teams will be a motivating factor. Last time at Kakindu Stadium, Onduparaka played out a one-all draw with JMC in a game midfield gem Gaddafi Gadinho scored a contender for goal of the season.
Bul, 11th in the league with 32 points need to avoid defeat to cement their league status.
