Uganda Cranes is destined for a busy start to June where they are expected to play three international matches in a space of less than ten days.

Upon this background, the initial preparations kicked-off last week with the non residential drills for a selected crop of locally based players (with the exception of Express and KCCA players).

The sessions conducted over three days last week were held at Nelson Mandela National stadium (outside training ground and the main stadium).

These culminated into a successful tour of the Kitara Region where the national team won 3-1 on Sunday.

Tomorrow (Tuesday, May 30) the team will enter a residential camp at Sky Hotel , Naalya where there will be double sessions to fine tune the players ahead of the big games.

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic expects great preparations of the selected locally based players and those foreign based legion.

13 of the players who traveled to Fort Portal are expected to attend the residential training (still minus the KCCA players).

The team that will start training on Tuesday is purely on merit.

It is not built on sentiments of the past nor sympathies of the present.

We expect to have a double session until when we leave.

The team will engage in a double session until Thursday evening before departing later in the night to Ethiopian where they will play an international friendly match on Saturday, 3rd June in Hawassa city.

After the Ethiopia friendly match, the team will proceed to Senegal for another friendly in Dakar on 6th June before the Group L qualifier match against Cape Verde on 10th June 2017 in Praia city.
