Kampala Region Football Association (KRFA) has invented a new product on the front – the Under 15 football league league.

The competition shall be called the Kampala Region Juniors League (U-15).

Three sides Sparta 09, Jiddah African Child and Zebra clubs all started with victories on match day one.

Soccer Stars and Kasubi Children Academy played to a one all draw – the only match that ended all square.

Life Eternal, Makindye Soccer Academy, Kampala Junior Team and Super Bullets all started on  a losing streak.

Sparta 09’s Travis Mutyaba is top scorer with 3 goals, Eddie Ssebandeke (Sparta 09) has two goals.

There are four players with one goal apiece. Abubaker Walusimbi and Ramathan Kaheru (Jiddah African Child), Hakim Mutebi (Zebra), Kasubi Children Academy’s Joel Nakibinge and Soccer Stars’ Sadat Sserugo has one goal.

FUFA Youth football development officer Bashir Mutyaba, fresh from scouting talent in the recently concluded Copa schools’ national championship in Masaka lauded the idea by Kampala Regional Football Association.

Mutyaba called upon the other regions to follow suit.

I thank the idea started by Kampala Region District Association of starting the U-15 league. I call upon other regions in the country to follow the Kampala path.

This is the way to go in as far as developing talents from the grassroots is concerned.
