Tusker FC coach George ‘Best’ Nsimbe has confirmed the search for a left back to replace departing Shafik Batambuze is on.

The Ugandan international is set to leave the Brewers and Kenyan champions for Tanzania’s Singida United after a couple of seasons.

Nsimbe, who joined the club at the start of the season, admits Batambuze leaves a void he wants to fill.

“He has been one of our most important players,” said Nsimbe. “We now have a task to fill the void in the window,” he added.

Batambuze has been among the Tusker’s most consistent performers but from within, Nsimbe can turn to experienced and versatile Kenyan international, James Situma.

The Brewers have won seven league games in succession prior to the international break and are only separated by goal difference at the top of the log.

They are tied on 27 points after 13 games with Gor Mahia but the K’Ogalo have a superior goal difference of 10 against Tusker’s five.
