Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) chairman Deo Mutabazi has been elevated to be one of the two delegates to represent the body at the FUFA General Assembly.
Mutabazi was elected unopposed to join long serving delegate and battle hardened Anthony Tumwesigye.
The development was confirmed on Tuesday during UBSA’s convention at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala to elect the new delegates as witnessed by FUFA returning officer Stanley Kinene.
For the previous 4 years, Tumwesigye has been representing the Beach Soccer body as delegate alongside Ivan Tusiime Mugalula, who is away for his PhD Studies in China.
Mutabazi also maintains the chairmanship slot.
He has vowed to continue fronting the interests of Beach Soccer in the entire country.
In an exclusive interview with Kawowo Sports after being officially declared delegate, the shrewd administrator pledged to better Beach Soccer management, competitions and administration.
As the UBSA family, we shall continue to work within our means with the set 4 year strategic plan.
We have a plan of spreading Beach Soccer beyond the peripheries of Kampala and Entebbe especially with improved infrastructure, capacity building, human resource, improved marketing with more sponsors on board and better organized events on their already rich calendar.
Mutabazi will head the UBSA Executive Committee as deputized by celebrated Capital FM radio presenter Sam Ayo (Administration) and Peter Sseguya (General duties).
Renown city lawyer Denis Sembuya is maintained as Chief Executive Officer and Tumwesigye is head of competitions.
Others on the executive are; Ali Mwebe (Technical), Top Television manager Ssemwogerere Mukiibi heads marketing, Joel Kiwalabye (Finance), Hilary Kimbugwe (Universities), Joseph Tamale (Schools), Justus Kamusiime (Disciplinary) and Juma Abdul Kato (Protcol).
On the same day, the Players, Coaches and Youth Football bodies also voted for their respective delegates.
Edward Kalungi and Paul Mukatabala bounced back as the football delegates.
The ever green Stone Kyambadde and 1978 legendary goalkeeper Paul Ssali Mukisa are under the coaches while celebrated promoter of youth football activities in Uganda Farouk Kigongo and John Bosco Matisko are the delegates to represent the youth in the football parliament.
The last group of elections before the FUFA Executive polls shall be Women representatives on 15th June, 2017 at FUFA House.
