The Uganda Swimming Federation (USF) has been boosted with a 100 million Uganda shillings package by DSTV.

Part of the money will cater for this Saturday’s National Inter-club Swimming Championship at the Kampala International School of Uganda (KISU).

13 clubs have duly confirmed to take part in this Inter-club Championship.

Also it will facilitate the budget for the National Swimming Independence Gala (set for 7th and 8th October 2017) and the National Open Swimming Championship on 11th and 12th November 2017 at the GEMS Cambridge International School, Butabika in Kampala.

Phoebe Nakabazzi of MultiChoice hinted on the essence of such a partnership with the swimming federation;

The decision to sponsor swimming is in alignment with our desire to support local content.

Donald Rukare, the Uganda Swimming Federation president lauded the offer, which he termed as a timely boost towards the activities of swimming in the country.

At least Shs35M will be approximately accorded to each of the three events.
