- KCCA (Uganda) Vs FUS Rabat (Morocco) – Phillip Omondi Stadium, 4:00pm
KCCA Football Club midfielder Ibrahim Saddam Juma is ready make his debut count in Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup against Moroccan side FUS Rabat in Kampala.
The creative midfielder was cleared by continent’s football governing Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) on Wednesday when his club licence was sent.
During the Thursday morning rain laden training session, Saddam’s body language communicated his readiness for the Sunday match in the affirmative.
After the two hour session dominated by physical drills, closely monitored by the entire technical team, Saddam disclosed his hunger for match action to the media;
First, I want to thank CAF for clearing me to play. This is a great opportunity and I have been patiently waiting for this moment.
Fans expect a lot from me and I personally expect to deliver much for the club.
Football is a team sport and I will work for the team. I want to contribute to the team success with the help of my fellow players.
The calm midfield gem confesses he feels no pressure of any kind ahead of his first ever match for the club.
Fine, any game has its own pressure. Personally, I do not feel the pressure. I have played so many games and made so many debuts in my life.
The match against FUS Rabat will be one of them.
We need the three points at home because they are a turning point for our campaign.
Saddam was signed from Express Football Club in May but could not feature for KCCA because CAF had not yet processed his license since the Uganda transfer window was not open by the time.
KCCA eyes revenge when they take on FUS Rabat who convincingly won the first leg 3-0 in Morocco.
