Uganda Cranes Regional Tours 2017

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic has included four foreign based players on the national team ahead of the Western Region tour.

The foreign based players summoned are; Hassan Wasswa Mawanda, Khalid Aucho, Dennis Iguma and Murushid Jjuuko.
KCCA players who are currently active in the CAF Confederation Cup are not included on the team.
The Western Region Select Side will take on Uganda Cranes on 8th July 2017 at the Kabale Municipal Stadium.
“KCCA FC players have been left out because of their Confederation Cup engagement with their Club until the 7th July after the game against Club Africain. Some foreign based players have been summoned to train with the team to prepare them for the World Cup qualifiers against Egypt in August,” Micho explained of his selection.

The regional match is in preparation CHAN 2018 qualifiers against South Sudan slated for mid July.

The Bright Stars of South Sudan will host the first leg tie on Friday 14th  July 2017 at Juba Stadium.

FUFA has confirmed the return leg will be played at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo in Kampala on 22nd July 2017.

The winner between South Sudan and Uganda after the two legs will lock horns with either Rwanda or Tanzania for a slot at the biennial championship that shall be held in Kenya.

The team training sessions start on Saturday 9 am at Mandela National Stadium.
