Eleven African member associations handed over a rich Concept Paper on Beach Soccer to the Chairman CAF Beach Soccer and Futsal Committee, Moses Magogo.

The member associations are Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, South Africa, Senegal, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda.

The move was fronted by Uganda, incidentally the home to the committee head.

Chairpersons’ representative Deo Mutabazi in company of Beach Soccer Referees Instructor and Technical Director East African Beach Soccer Union Ali Mwebe at FUFA House.

“This Concept Paper was initiated in a bid to develop the game of Beach Soccer in Africa. I was assigned the responsibility of compiling the concept and handing it over to CAF through the Chairman Beach Soccer and Futsal Committee because I had access to him and also Uganda having moved steps further in the development of the game,” Mutabazi stated.

Magogo applauded the stake holders initiative of coming up with the Concept Paper and promised to deliver the paper at the upcoming CAF Executive Congress in Morocco.

“I have received visitors in my office from the Beach Soccer fraternity who have handed over a paper on the development of Beach Soccer in Africa. I will peruse through the papers and then present it to the upcoming executive congress in Morocco,” said Magogo.

Mutabazi who presented the concept on behalf of the other 11 chairpersons said that after the discussion, fellow chairpersons assigned him, Ali Mwebe and Taye Olajide from Nigeria the responsibility of compiling the concept and hand it to the chairman CAF Beach Soccer and Futsal Committee.

The concept nitty gritty has concerns of how to develop the game with the limited resources, the simple qualification format and requisition on providing facilities to the active federations.
