URA Football Flub head coach Ibrahim Kirya has clearly underlined the intentions and goals he harbours for the tax collectors’ side – to win silverware for the forthcoming season 2017-18.

Kirya made the revelation on Wednesday at Lido Beach in Entebbe where the club players – new and old are undergoing vigorous training ahead of the new season.

In an exclusive interview with Kawowo Sports, Kirya revealed that all the efforts now at the club from the technical side, administration and playing wings are engineered towards winning trophies.

The club is working tooth and nail to win trophies. It has been long over due.

The club has pitched camp at Lido Beach in Entebbe doing stamina, power and endurance drills on the Lake Victoria sand.

“The intention of working out on the sand is to work on power, stamina and endurance. This is key for players if they are to last throughout the season,” Kirya, who is assisted by James Odoch and club legend Simeon Massa added.

This is the second week of the club’s pre-season training.

During the opening week sessions, there was heavy running on tarmac and grass.

For week three, the players will return to the grass with heavy running as they tone down towards the 4th week.

The club has planned a number of friendly matches prior to the start of the league in September.

New players Dennis Makoba Bigala, Ajab Abdulrahman, Paul Mbowa, Charles Ssempa and others are all part of the sessions.
