Newly named Kirinya-Jinja S.S football club head coach, Charles Ayiekho Lukula remains upbeat ahead of the start for the 2017-18 Uganda Premier League season.
The CAF ‘A’ licenced who took over from Hamza Kalanzi (worked for a week) at the Jinja based club had been a coach for FUFA Big league side, Nyamityobora from Mbarara district.
In an exclusive interview with Kawowo Sports, Ayeikho has set a number of ‘achievable targets’ at the club.
We look forward to playing purposeful and beautiful football.
A brand that will transform Kirinya-Jinja S.S into a giant killer.
Ayeikho’s immediate task at hand is to convert the club from being ranked among those fighting for survival to a feared and respected entity.
Everything is possible in football. It is all about having the best preparations, good organization on and off the field of play as well as hard work and belief from the players.
For the record, Ayeikho is among the coaches available to have won the domestic league (with Police Football club in 2005).
He has also previously coached Kiyovu (in Rwanda), Vipers (then as Bunamwaya), Water, Soana and lately Nyamityobora.
As a hands on coach, Ayiekho has built a shrewd reputation for his ability to transform paperwork thesis into practical situations.
He is also an organized tactician on and off the playing turf.

At the time being, Ayeikho, like the rest of the league counterparts is fine tuning his squad ahead of the start for the new season.
A lot has to be done in recruitment of the players, thorough pre season training and the accompanying warm up games.
He asserts it is too early to predict the final position for the club but quickly interjects with a ‘respectable finish’ tag.
Already, Ayeikho has clearly demonstrated his winning mentality – triumphing in the premier league (with Police), University Football League (MUBS) and the national beach soccer league (three titles with MUBS).
Last season, Kirinya-Jinja S.S marked their debut appearance in the league since being promoted from the FUFA Big league.
They were first coached by Alex Isabirye Musongola for close to 9 games before he voluntarily resigned.
In came Abbey ”Capello” Bogere Kikomeko who saved the side from relegation blushes.
Kikomeko has been since appointed director of youth football at the reigning national copa schools’ champions – Jinja S.S.
Ayiekho will be assisted by Hassan Zungu with the head of technical, Hakim Magumba’s experience likely to impact positively in one way or another.
Ahmed Kongola is the club Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
