Gor Mahia won 2-1 on the road against Muhoroni Youth at the Moi Stadium in the Western town of Kisumu.
Timothy Otieno netted a brace for the former KPL winners in a match Uganda Cranes left back Godfrey ‘Jajja Walu’ was not part of.
His first of the two goals came after 22 minutes and was set up by Jacques Tuyisenge. The second came moments later after a beating the goalie in a one against one incident.
Robert Mudenye Indimuli pulled a goal back, thanks to Ambrose Ayoyi’s assist following a quick counter attack.
Ugandan born turned Rwandese forward Meddie Kagere was introduced later in the game for Tuyisenge. Another Ugandan, Solomon Wafula was an unused substitute for the K’Ogalo.
Hassan Kikoyo and Faruku Mudoola started for Muhoroni Youth before paving way for Venval Thomas and Francis Oduor respectively. Goalie Salim Sowedi was unused by the home side.
Meanwhile, Mathare United thumped visiting Zoo F.C 6-0 in a one sided encounter.
Chrispinus Oduor netted a hat trick in the game dominated by the Slum boys. Other scorers on the day were Edwin Seda and second half substitute Derrick Onyango who netted a brace
