Ugandan internationals Jamal Salim Magoola and Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza face off in the Sudan Premier League on Tuesday night.
It will be a very direct contest as Jamal; in Al Merriekh’s goal will be keen to deny compatriot, Kiiza of Al Hilal Obeid a chance to get on the score sheet.
Jamal has spent a couple of years in Sudan with the giants of Sudan Football whilst Kiiza joined his new employers mid this year.
Al Merriekh sit second on the log in the Sudan top tier division with 30 points from 14 games, six adrift of rivals and leaders Al Hilal Omdurman whilst Obayed are seventh with 26 points.
Kiiza’s side has played one more game than Jamal Salim’s.
Coming into the game, Al Hilal Obeid have lost just once in 6 previous games, winning four and drawing the other.
The only loss was by forfeiture to Zambia’s Zesco United in the CAF Confederation Cup when the Sudan FA had been banned by FIFA.
Al Merriekh has lost three of their previous seven in all competitions, drawing once and winning three.
